At Tech Ferrets, we specialize in digging deep to fix your tech issues and building bespoke PCs that match your exact needs. We value transparency, mutual respect, and high-quality craftsmanship.
Below are the policies that govern our repairs, upgrades, and custom build services.

1. Our Code of Conduct
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive service provider. Tech Ferrets is LGBTQIA+ owned and we are proud to be an LGBTQIA+ ally.
- Zero Tolerance: We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding abuse, harassment, or hate speech towards our staff.
- Right to Refuse: As per our Terms of Service, Tech Ferrets reserves the right to decline work or terminate a session immediately if we encounter material on a device that is illegal, abusive, or promotes hate speech.
2. Bespoke Custom Builds
For custom PC builds, specific terms apply to ensure clarity and financial security for both parties.
- Consultation & Quotes: All custom builds start with a consultation. Quotes are valid for 14 days due to the fluctuating price of PC components.
- Price Guarantee: We aim to honour our agreed quotes. If component prices rise between the time of the quote and the ordering of parts, Tech Ferrets will absorb the cost difference up to £50. If the market price increase exceeds this limit, we will pause and contact you to discuss options or issue a revised quote before proceeding.
- Deposits: A non-refundable deposit covering the cost of the hardware components is required before any parts are ordered (please be sure you want to go ahead with it). The remaining labour fee is due upon collection/delivery.
- Component Warranty: Individual components (GPU, CPU, Motherboard) are covered by their respective manufacturer’s warranties. Tech Ferrets will assist in the RMA process for any failed parts within the first 12 months.
- Change of Mind: Once parts are ordered, any cancellation by the customer may result in a restocking fee to cover return shipping and supplier penalties.
3. Repairs & Upgrades
- Diagnostics: A diagnostic fee of £25 applies to all repair bookings. If you proceed with the recommended repair or upgrade, this fee is deducted from the final bill.
- No Fix, No Fee: In the rare event we cannot fix the issue or find a solution, you will not be charged beyond the initial diagnostic time.
4. Data Protection & Liability
- Your Data: While we take every precaution, hardware failure is unpredictable. It is the customer’s responsibility to back up all data prior to handing over a device. Tech Ferrets accepts no liability for data loss caused by existing hardware faults, software corruption, or drive failure during diagnostics.
- Privacy (GDPR): We respect your privacy. We do not access personal files unless necessary for data recovery. Any temporary backups made during the repair process are encrypted and permanently deleted 7 days after the job is complete.
5. Warranty on Repairs
- Standard Warranty: We offer a 90-day warranty on all repair labour and replaced parts.
- Exclusions: This warranty covers the specific fault we fixed. It does not cover:
- New physical damage (for example, dropping the laptop).
- Liquid damage.
- Software issues, including virus/malware reinfection.
- Issues caused by other parties opening the device after our repair.
6. Payments & Collections
- Payment: Full payment is due upon completion of the work. Devices cannot be released until payment is received.
- Unclaimed Devices: We are not a storage facility. If a device is not collected within 60 days of notification and no arrangement has been made, we reserve the right to dispose of or recycle the machine to recover our costs, in accordance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
