5. Parts, Warranties and Liability
5.1 Third-Party Components

Components sourced from external suppliers are subject to the supplier or manufacturer warranty. We assist with warranty claims but cannot guarantee outcomes.

5.2 Customer-Supplied Components

If you provide your own parts, we are not responsible for incompatibility, defects, or pre-existing faults. Labour charges still apply if installation or diagnostics cannot be completed due to part issues.

5.3 Data Loss and Liability

You are strongly advised to back up your data before submitting your device. To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for data loss or corruption, software issues, indirect or consequential damages, or electrical and mechanical failures not directly caused by our work.

6. Turnaround Times

Turnaround times are estimates. Delays may occur due to diagnostic complexity, parts availability, supplier delays, or unforeseen technical issues. We will update you if delays occur.

7. Cancellations
7.1 Before Work Begins

You may cancel free of charge.

7.2 After Work Has Started

Labour fees will apply for any work already completed.

7.3 If Parts Have Been Ordered

Once parts have been purchased, you are responsible for their cost unless the supplier allows cancellation or returns.

8. Customer Conduct

We welcome customers of all backgrounds. Tech Ferrets is LGBTQIA+ owned and we are proud to be an LGBTQIA+ ally.

You agree not to provide false information, behave abusively, or misuse our services.

We reserve the right to refuse service in cases of harassment or abuse.

9. Right to Terminate and Prohibited Content

We will not support, promote, or assist with anything illegal, discriminatory, inflammatory, hateful, or violent. This includes any such material found during a diagnostic check or repair. If we encounter prohibited content, we reserve the right to stop work immediately.

9.1 Definition of Prohibited Content

Prohibited content includes (but is not limited to):

  • Material that is illegal or facilitates illegal activity
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
  • Content that promotes or glorifies terrorism or violent extremism
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment targeting protected characteristics
  • Content that incites or threatens violence against individuals or groups
  • Material that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age
9.2 Payment Liability

If work is stopped under this clause, you remain liable for the diagnostic fee or any time spent up to that point.

9.3 No Liability for Non-Repair

If service is terminated under this clause, we are not liable for leaving the device in an unrepaired state.

9.4 Reporting Duty

Any material suspected to be legally prohibited (including CSAM or terrorism-related content) will be reported to the relevant authorities.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, logos (including “Tech Ferrets” and “Gari the Ferret”), images, and text on this website are owned by Tech Ferrets and may not be used without permission.
